To the Editor:

This letter is in response to Mr. Ormond’s letter in the paper about trout fishing.

Our fine lawmakers have made it illegal to pick up dead trout when they freeze. I think it is a sin to let them rot when people can eat them

I’ll bet our fine lawmakers have never set a hook in our rivers or creeks here in Washington or Bath and know very little about fishing at all. The people fishing with rods and reels are not harming the fish, so please put out a list of who makes these laws, and I will try to get all my fishing friends to vote them out of office if possible.

From what I hear, they make all the laws for the big-fleet boat owners out of Raleigh.
