WASHINGTON NOON ROTARY | CONTRIBUTED DESERVING HONOR: Vincent Tesoro (right), Toys for Tots area coordinator and commandant of the Marine Corps League 1262 Tri-County detachment, presents Washington Noon Rotary’s Toys for Tots area collection and distribution coordinators (from left) Rich Morin and Lisa Roberts and WNR President Spencer Stanley with the Toys for Tots Maj. William L. Hendricks Citation for their exemplary contributions to the outstanding success of the 2013 Toys for Tots collection campaign. William L. Hendricks, a retired Marine Corps Reserve colonel, in 1947 co-founded the Toys for Tots gift program still sponsored by the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve. Tesero also presented Mary Parker Egbert with the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Commander’s Award. She is recognized for her generous contributions to Toys for Tots efforts “to bring the joy of Christmas and hope to America’s less fortunate children.”
