Nan Purvis Lanier

Ms. Nancy “Nan” Purvis Lanier, age 33, formerly of Washington, went home to be with Jesus Thursday, March 27, 2014.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Washington, conducted by Rev. Danny Allen. Burial will be private.
Nan was born in Greenville, N.C. on September 21, 1980. She was a graduate of Washington High School. Nan was a Psychology major at Peace College and received a degree in Special Education from Barton College. She was a Special Needs teacher at East Wake Academy in Zebulon. Nan was a member of Wendell United Methodist Church. She loved the beach and enjoyed vacationing at Ocracoke Island.
Nan was the loving daughter of Sarah Vick Purvis and Harvey Keith Purvis; devoted mother of Greyson Timothy Lanier; AWESOME sister to Claire and Robbie Mitchell, Keith and Rea and Purvis, Connor and Josh Ward, Jean and Todd Credle; phenomenal aunt to Jack, Owen, Griffin, Ebbie, Anna and Thomas; and granddaughter to Elizabeth Griffin Purvis.
Her spirited nature and God-centered life inspired countless people.
Her family feels so blessed and grateful for the prayers and thoughts sent her way throughout this journey.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the home of her mother, Sarah Purvis, 284 Summer Haven Road, Washington.
