On Tuesday, March 18th, Alderman and Mayor Pro-tem Midge Ogletree, along with her husband Charlie,  participated in the Albemarle Commission Area Agency on Aging Mayor’s March Against Hunger. The Ogletrees have been a part of the Senior Nutrition Home Delivered Meals Program for many years.  Home delivered meals are a valuable resource for many of our Tyrrell County home-bound senior citizens. The volunteers such as Mr. & Mrs. Ogletree not only deliver a nutritious and tasty meal, but they also provide interaction to some who may never see another visitor that day. These volunteers are sometimes the first ones to notice if there could be an issue with a home-bound elderly person. They develop caring relationships with the recipients and many go way above and beyond just being the person that delivers a meal. If you would like to be a part of this wonderful group of people, or if you may be in need of the program,  just call the Albemarle Commission Senior Nutrition Program at 252-426-7093 or the Tyrrell County Senior Center  at 796-0365 for more information.
