Friday evening, several hundred law enforcement vehicles from agencies across the state made up the procession from Thalmann’s memorial service in New Bern to his burial at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington. Thalmann, who grew up in Washington Park, was a graduate of Washington High School and Beaufort County Community College’s Basic Law Enforcement Training. He had been a New Bern police officer for seven months.
