June 30, 1941 – April 3, 2014
Dalmon Edison Boyd, age 72, a resident of Archbell Rd., Bath, NC passed away Thursday, April 3, 2014. There will be a graveside celebration of his life at 3:00 PM, Sunday, April 6 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, officiated by Curtis White. Special music will be provided by Brenda Godley. Vernon Godley, Harold Ormond, Jr., Guy Cutler, and J.C. Morgan will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday, April 6, 2014 from 12:00 to 2:45 PM at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy. 264 E., Washington, NC and travel in procession to the cemetery following the visitation. They will receive friends at other times at the home.
Dalmon was born June 30, 1941, in Beaufort County, son of the late Jatha Boyd and Marie Warren Boyd who survives. He was a 1960 graduate of Bath High School. He married Lois Ann Armstrong Boyd who survives. Dalmon was a dragline operator with Texas Gulf/PCS for 23 years and also farmed. He was a lifelong resident of Beaufort County and a past Ruritan Club member. In 1994 he opened Old Town Country Kitchen and continued working there until 2001.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his son, Dalmon Edison “Dal” Boyd, Jr. and wife Robin Ann of Bath; his daughter, Cindy B. Burke and husband Mike of Kinston; his brothers, Halston “Buddy” Boyd and wife Glenda and Tony Boyd all of Bath; his sister, Sandra Dupree and husband Claude of Bath; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Boyd, Isaiah Boyd, Caroline Boyd, Steven Warren and wife Samantha, and Matthew Warren; and his step grandchildren, Tony Castro and Mikal Burke.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his son, Ormond “Craig” Boyd, in 1990 and his first wife, Carolyn Faye Keech in 1965.
