Body of Missing Winterville Boater Found in Alligator Creek

On Saturday April 26th at 7:13pm the Tyrrell County 911 Center recieved a 911 call that a boater had fallen off a boat into Alligator Creek. The U.S. Coast Guard responded with a helicopter and boat from Elizabeth City. Also the Tyrrell Fire Dept, N.C. Marine Patrol and N.C. Wildlife responded with boats and personnel. Personnel with the Tyrrell County Sheriff’s Office and Tyrrell County Emergency Management also responded. The missing boater was identified as William Brookshire 57, of Winterville N.C.. The body of  Brookshire 57,of Winterville was recovered by emergency personnel from Alligator Creek at app 11:40am.
