CHARLES L. LITTLE

June 16, 1939 – May 1, 2014

 

Mr. Charles Linwood Little, age 74, a resident of 109 Silo Drive, Chocowinity, died Thursday evening, May 1, 2014 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday May 4, 2014 in Wesley Hall at the First United Methodist Church in Washington officiated by Rev. Danny Allen.

Mr. Little was born in Pitt County on June 16, 1939, son of the late Thomas Leon Little and Lillie Bell Whitfield Little.  He was a graduate of Farmville High School and  a graduate of Louisburg College with an Associate’s Degree in Business.  He continued his studies at Miami-Dade Junior. College in the field of management and supervision.  He attended Kings College in Raleigh and received a degree in Business Administration.  Mr. Little also attended Cacye /Reilly School of Massotherapy in Virginia Beach, Va.  He was a massage therapist and owner/operator of Little Kneads Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworks.  He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Washington and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Washington Lodge 1800.

On August 10, 1953, he married the former Tilly DeRot, who survives.  He is also survived by his children: Teah Little Smink and husband Karl F. Smink of Thomasville; Carl Linwood DeRot Little and wife Phyllis Williams of Grimesland;  Leona Little Taylor and husband Cecil Taylor of Williamston; Iris Marie Little of Virginia Beach, Va.; his sister: Lillie Little Mozingo or Eureka and  grandchildren:  Jordan A. Smink, Karl A. Smink, Alexander R. Britt, Cecil Roy Taylor, Jr. and Brandon N. Taylor.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Charles Ashley Little and brother, Richard Thomas Little.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that contributions be made to the family to offset the tornado storm damage from last week.
