The Columbia High School 2014 prom was held at the Tyrrell County 4-H center on April 26.  The 4-H center overlooks the Albemarle Sound, providing a beautiful setting.  The grounds are immaculate and the staff is welcoming and accommodating.
“It is the ideal layout for our school.  We have a tradition of announcing each couple as they enter.  The long walkway leading to the water allows friends and family to come out to see the students dressed in tuxes and gowns,” said Columbia High School Teacher Bill Ziegler, who helped organize the event along with other class advisors.

This year’s theme was ‘Vegas’ which the students really enjoyed.  The prom committee (Ashante Spruill, Keosha White, Carlie Tarkington, Brandi Van Dorpe, Laura Casas, Dylan Spruill, Rasheam McNeal, and Hannah Linton) along with the Junior class advisers (Sarah Exum, Eric Godwin, Richard Edwards, and Bill Ziegler)  started setting up and decorating two days before the event.
