The NCDOT has announced a road closure on N.C. Highway 33 near Chocowinity starting at 7 p.m. tonight. The road is expected to reopen after construction is completed, estimated to be at 6 a.m. Saturday.

A detour will be in place, as follows: From N.C. 33, turn right onto Taylor Road, travel .9 mile; turn left onto Frederick Road, travel 2 miles; turn right onto U.S. Highway 17 South, travel .0 mile; turn left (make a U-turn at median), travel North on U.S. 17 fro 1.7 miles to U.S. 17 Business exit; turn left on U.S. 17 business, travel .8 miles back to N.C. Highway 33.
