Eva Wilson Ralph
August 2, 1931 – May 9, 2014

Eva Wilson Ralph died in Raleigh on Friday, May 9, 2014 at the age of 83.  Eva Ralph was born in Franklin County and graduated from Louisburg College in 1949.  She married William George “Buck” Ralph in 1958 and relocated to Belhaven, NC.  She worked for Younce and Ralph Lumber Company since its opening until her retirement.

Eva Ralph was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church in Belhaven, where she served on the vestry and initiated their Christmas outreach mission.  She was an original member of the Belhaven community theater group, The Way Off Broadway Players, with whom she enjoyed many performances.  She was an avid bridge player, and a member of many community clubs until her health prevented her from participating.

Mrs. Ralph was preceded in death by her husband Buck in 1960.  She is survived by two daughters, Mebane Fordham of Jacksonville, Florida and Ann Hollis with husband Thomas of Apex, NC.  She has five grandchildren, Beau and Coulter Fordham, and Daniel, Lindsay and Breanne Hollis; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the caring staff of Rex Hospital for their compassionate and kind service during Mrs. Ralph’s several hospitalizations over the past four months.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 31st, at St. James Episcopal Church, 545 E. Main Street, Belhaven, NC 27810 with the Reverend Fran McKinney officiating.  Services will conclude at the Belhaven Cemetery with a visitation to follow at the church.
