Mr. Mason Clayton Sprouse Sr., age 53, a resident of 8423 Old 97 Road in Pantego died on Monday, September 10, 2007 at his home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at the Paul Funeral Home Chapel in Washington and will be conducted by Preston Spencer. Tony Griekspoor, Anthony Griekspoor, Billy Bell, Gregory Bell, Chuck Foster and Pete Cherry will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Sprouse was born in Augusta County, Virginia on December 27, 1952 to Robert Sprouse Sr. and the late Mary Jane Simmon Sprouse. On December 27, 1982, he married the former Teresa Gale Gibbs who survives.
In addition to his wife and father, survivors include: one son: Mason Clayton Sprouse Jr. of Washington, one daughter: Pennie Gale Sprouse of Pantego, six brothers: Lee Sprouse of Laurinburgh, Robert Sprouse, Jr. of Belhaven, Boyd Sprouse of Bayview, Benny Sprouse of Chocowinity, Kenneth Sprouse of Belhaven, Johnny Sprouse of Bath, three sisters; Betty Russ of Pantego, Patricia Brabble of Pantego, Joanie Hardison of Jamesville, and four grandchildren; Cory Paniagua, Jr., Destiny Paniagua, Elijah Lott, and Haleigh Sprouse. In addition to his mother, Mr. Sprouse was preceded in death by two brothers; Cary Sprouse and William Sprouse.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Paul Funeral Home of Washington and at other times at the home located at 8423 Old 97 Road, Pantego, NC 27860.
Flowers are welcomed and appreciated or memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942.
