Julia Waters “Terry” Midyette
Feb. 24, 1954 – June 20, 2014

Julia Waters “Terry” Midyette, age 60, a resident of Terrapin Track Rd., Washington, NC, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014. There will be a celebration of her life at 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 22, at Five Points Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor David Young. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Dakota Hill, Antonio Labra, Justin Midyette, Jeremy Waters, Timothy Webster and Joshua Wilson will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy 264 E., Washington, NC 27889 and other times at the home.

Terry was born February 24, 1954 in Belhaven, daughter of the late Hallet Long Waters, Sr. and Monteen Harrison Waters who survives. She graduated from Pantego High school in 1972 and earned a certificate in Early Childhood Development from Beaufort County Community College in 1973.  Terry was married to Merlon Artis Midyette who survives. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her daughters, Sally M. Peaden (David) and Amanda M. Rowlison (Chris) both of Washington and Shelley N. Midyette of Greenville; her son, Justin A. Midyette (Stephanie) of Grimesland; her brother, Gregory Waters of Pinetown; her sisters, Teena Radcliff and Judy Sterrenberg both of Pinetown and Sarah Mason of Bath; and eight grandchildren.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Hallet L. Waters, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in Julia’s memory be made to Five Points Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 12327 NC Hwy 32 N, Washington, NC.
