2014 Pros Weekend
Published 2:15 pm Sunday, June 22, 2014
The 2014 Pros Weekend, hosted by retired NFL wide receiver Terrance Copper and Washington Police and Fire Services, drew a crowd of enthusiastic children to the Washington waterfront and Washington High School on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the public was treated to a cookout at Festival Park, complete with hot dogs, drinks, a Zumba demo, drawings and the opportunity to get the autographs of professional players. Saturday, NFL players, current and former, led kids ages 7 to 17 through basic drills on the WHS field, with a meal provided by Zaxby’s Washington store. A basketball camp with overseas pro players Ralph Biggs and Cor-J Cox was held later in the day. Copper has held the camp for four years running – he says it’s his way of giving back to the community where he was raised.
