Over the last six years, Pecheles Toyota in Washington has received the highest honor bestowed by Toyota Motor Sales, USA Inc.–the 2013 President’s Award.
The award is given out annually, and dealerships are judged on a number of criteria: including, customer satisfaction in sales and services, market share, vehicle delivery, excellence and employee certification.
Selected dealerships must meet or exceed the standard in all areas of dealership in order to qualify for the award, according to a press release
“It is a pretty prestigious award from Toyota. Only the top 25 percent of Toyota dealerships earn the award,” said Doug Batchelor, general manager of Pecheles Toyota. “It’s about taking care of our customers all the way through the process.”
Pecheles is just one of seven dealerships that won Toyota’s President’s Award in the state of North Carolina.
“There are 175 dealers in Southeast Toyota and 1,200 total across the United States,” Batchelor said. “We’re looking at only slightly under 400 dealers nationwide that win this.”
The award is given based on costumer satisfaction on new car sales only, according to Batchelor.
Toyota employees make sure Pecheles keeps the new cars clean and delivered clean, along with being well maintained on the lot, Batchelor said.
“We have to make sure the customer has thorough understanding of the features on the car,” Batchelor said. “It also means taking the additional step and following up and make sure they don’t have any additional questions.”
Batchelor said with the all the technology on cars, it is important to make sure customers have a complete understanding of their car. New car owner backs are invited back to Toyota to clear up any remaining questions about the car.
As part of the honor of winning the honor, Toyota is giving Pecheles a new web commercial, which will feature the award. The commercial will be shown on the national Toyota website. Pecheles is given a crystal trophy, along with a plaque.
During the last six years, Pecheles employees take pride in making sure customers are taken care of.
