The State Fire Marshal is evaluating the Blounts Creek Fire Department fire rating on Monday.

Part of the process is flowing the fire hydrants in town. This may cause cloudiness or discoloration in the water. The discoloration will clear after the flushing ceases, and the color should return to normal.

If discoloration is present after the flushing, residents should not wash white or light clothes.
