From Washington Harbor District Alliance

Once again, Tayloe’s Hospital Pharmacy and Washington Harbor District Alliance are teaming up to bring you Music In The Streets. Come down while we turn Main Street, between Gladden and Market, into a giant jukebox. We have an eclectic mix of music for your listening enjoyment.

Listen to the southern rock sounds of the Southerner’s Band performing by Coldwell Banker Coastal Rivers Realty. Further up the street, in front of the Bank Bistro & Bar, you can listen to the jazz sounds of Riverboat Jazz Band.  Singer-songwriter Marye Amanda will be performing pop, country and contemporary Christian music on the corner of Respess and Main. Rock on with the sounds of NEVER 2 LATE, as they take you on a stroll down memory lane with classics from the 60’s, and 70’s in front of Grub Brothers. Or groove to the sounds of country, gospel and rock and roll with the Friends of St. James, who will be in front of Big Bargain Furniture.

Local merchants will be open for your shopping pleasure and, of course, the best food in town at any of our eateries or Zaxby’s of Washington will be serving sandwiches to go on the street. Try a tattoo at The Mad Tatter’s Temporary Tattoos, or get involved in “Kettles on Parade” with the Salvation Army. Angels N Camo will be here too. And for the kids, stilt walker Cowboy Bob will be in attendance. Visitors can simply wander Main Street and enjoy the street fair atmosphere. At the Pepsi cart, the Humane Society of Beaufort County will be offering cool drinks, Smooch a Pooch, face painting, coloring activities and kitties for adoption. Love Digital Imaging will be there to capture you and your friends with amazing digital photography.

Washington Harbor District Alliance puts on the event, but there’s no way we could pull it off without the support of local businesses like First South Bank, Potash Corp, Lee Chevrolet Buick, Coldwell Banker Coastal Rivers Realty, the Washington Daily News, On The Waterfront restaurant Pepsi Minges and Zaxby’s of Washington, who are the corporate sponsors of all the events WHDA offers during the year.

Remember that Market Street is now open for vehicular traffic during Music In The Streets. This means you can park either on Stewart Parkway or Second Street, where it’s easy to get to the dining destination of your choice.
