Edward Glenn Cutrell
Nov. 7, 1937 – July 20, 2014

Edward Glenn Cutrell, 76, of Chesapeake, Va. died Sunday, July 20, 2014, at his home.

A native of Fairfield in Hyde County, N. C., he was born the son of the late Henry Carroll and Emma Clyde Swindell Cutrell.  He was married for 53 years to the former Myla Baum who survives.  He was a member of Fairfield Christian Church and attended Avalon Church of Christ in Virginia Beach.

“Ed Glenn” grew up working on a small farm and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He moved to Norfolk, Va. in 1960 and began working in the safety division at Taylor Parker.  It was here that he found the opportunity to work with a new tool called the Hurst Tool.  He later formed Virginia-Maryland Rescue Systems Inc. and was a distributor for Hurst “Jaws of Life” Rescue Tools for 38 years.

Left to cherish his memory in addition to his wife are two sons, Edward Glenn Cutrell, Jr. “Eddie” and wife Lori of Chesapeake and Jason Aubrey Cutrell and wife, Betsy of Engelhard, N.C.; a sister, Jean Cutrell Jones of Washington; four grandchildren, Gracie, Bristol, Emma, and Ella.  Nephew Paul Jones of Hampton and Niece Susan Cutrell of Virginia Beach.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Carroll Cutrell.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening July 23rd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 24th at Fairfield Christian Church, Fairfield, N. C.  Minister Jimmy Bennett will officiate.  Burial will follow on the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery.
