Mrs. Nancy Carol Rose Waters, age 76, a resident of 107 Jackson Street, Washington, died Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Vidant Service League Inpatient Hospice in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in the Sanctuary of the First Church of Christ, Washington, conducted by Steve Hill, Ray West and Angie Robertson. A private burial will follow in the Waters Family Cemetery in the Free Union Community.
The following will serve as pallbearers: Danny Robertson, Jimmy Waters, Floyd Cutler, Reed Hadley, Sean Nathan, and John Lane.
Mrs. Waters was born in Beaufort County on September 5, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Stephen Leroy Rose and Beaulah Mae Rose. Mrs. Waters was the retired office manager of Seaboard Surgical Associates. She was a lifelong member of First Church of Christ. Mrs. Waters taught Sunday School for over 30 years. She was a member of the Choir and the Ladies’ circles. In her spare time, Mrs. Waters enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Mrs. Waters was married to James Irving Waters, Sr., who died August 22, 2004.
Survivors include her children, Teresa Waters Singleton of Washington, Jimmy Waters and his wife, Merry Hadley Waters and their children, Taylor and Logan all of Emerald Isle, Kiki Waters Hampton of Washington; brother, Billy Rose and wife, Phyllis of Washington; sisters, Diana Respess of Bath, Judy Respess and husband, Malvin Respess, Jr. of Terra Ceia and care giver, Barbara Puryear.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by three brothers, Stephen Rose, Jr., Donald Rose and Howard Rose.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, September 1, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and other times at her home.
