Earlyne Marshall Gibbs, 88, of 626 White Plains Road, Engelhard died Monday September 5, 2014 at her residence.
Born in Hyde County, June 27, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William Guy and Thelma Cuthrell Marshall. She was married to Malcolm Oswood Gibbs, Sr., who preceded her in death.
She was a member of Watson’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed her flowers, spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and keeping in touch with her friends through the telephone.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the family plot in Soule Cemetery. Pastor Jerald Craddock will officiate.
Surviving is a son, Malcolm O. “Mac” Gibbs, Jr., and wife Sharon of Engelhard; a daughter, Dawn G. Credle and husband Pete of Swan Quarter; five grandchildren, Hunter Gibbs and wife Angie of Washington, Christian Gibbs and wife Connie of Fairfield, Gina Credle of Greenville, Beth C. Burt and husband David of Cary, Todd Credle and wife Jean of Swan Quarter; four great grandchildren, Grant Gibbs, Sara Gibbs, Anna Credle and Addie Grace Gibbs.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, William Guy “Billy” Marshall, Jr.; and a sister, Rue Marshall Harris.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 pm. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
