To the Editor:

Have just read your article “Girl Power: Women fuel business renaissance in Belhaven” and scanned the article quickly to see if the Bellport Inn was mentioned. It wasn’t and really should have been included in your article. The proprietor/hostess of the Bellport Inn is a retired State Department diplomat who purchased the property and fitted it out as a lovely B&B furnishing it with lovely purchases she made on her various postings around the world. The Bellport Inn opened in 2009. Currently closed while the owner is on “sabbatical”, it has, nevertheless, been an active business that has thrived. Having been a guest twice there, it is a place I intend to return to when it is re-opened. Check out TripAdvisor and other travel sites to see how well this lovely B&B has been reviewed.
