On May 27th 2014, Tyrrell-Washington Partnership for Children Board Chair, Julius Walker Jr., presented Dr. Michael Dunsmore, Superintendent for Tyrrell County Schools, a plaque in recognition of his support of the Triple P Positive Parenting Program.    Triple P is a public health model of parent education and support that promotes healthy development between parents and children.  Staff from Tyrrell County Schools received the training necessary to become a Certified Triple P Practitioner. Parents in Tyrrell County are now able to receive education that promotes healthy development between parents and children, prevents or lowers social and emotional behavioral problems and maltreatment and decreases stress.
