JANET CADY NEWILL

Sept. 5, 1925 – Nov. 15, 2014

Janet Cady Newill, of Dover, DE, passed away November 15, 2014.

Born on Sept 5, 1925 in Passaic NJ, she was the daughter of the late Pierre Amzi Cady and Louise Edna (Polhemus) Cady. She received her nursing degree from Centenary Junior College and Columbia University, Columbia-Presbyterian School of Nursing.  She worked and taught in the nursing field for many years.

Janet was married to the late Vaun Archie Newill for 57 years.

She is survived by her three children: Daughter, Nancy and her husband Christopher Clagett; and two sons, James and his wife, Maria, and William and his wife, Kristen, and eight grandchildren.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Pierre Cady and Robert Cady.

Her family will always remember her love of traveling, cooking, gardening, service to community and church, compassion for others, and devotion to her children, grandchildren, and beloved husband of 57 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the P.E.O. Foundation (P.E.O. Foundation, 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA  50312), the American Cancer Society or your local church.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
