NORTHEAST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL | CONTRIBUTED
OPERATION CARE: The fifth-graders at Northeast Elementary School in Pinetown are organizing care boxes that will be donated to the homeless and needy over the Christmas break. The fifth-graders are giving to the needy because they want other’s Christmas holidays to be as wonderful as their own. To children, waking up on Christmas day and finding out somebody does care and loves you no matter what, is the best gift you cold ever receive. If everybody felt this way we might not have as many problems. Janiya Bonner, a fifth-grader said, “I think we should help the needy because God wants us to. Maybe the reason that we are doing this is it’s God telling us to help other people and not just ourselves, because maybe one day we could be the same then we would see how they felt.” Hunter Braddy, another fifth-grade-student said, “we should help the needy in this time of year, ‘because they may not have the things that we have, and may not have the ability to have a job because they may be paralyzed or sick.” These fifth-graders are very supportive of the people in need. I should know because I am one. You can show that you care by donating shoe boxes, wrapping paper, bows, blankets, socks, soap, scarves, hygiene products, lotion or any other things that you think can help these families have a bright Christmas. The children of Northeast Elementary ask you to donate things to the needy and show that you care too.
