In anticipation of the winter weather, Pamlico County Schools have canceled school and Beaufort County Schools have also canceled school Tuesday and Wednesday. As a result,  Tuesday’s original Round 1 playoff basketball schedules have been altered. Tuesday’s sports section “On Deck” and Playoff Preview story will not reflect these changes. Check back here for updates throughout tonight and tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: THURSDAY, 4:40 P.M.

• The Northside boys’ team will face Northampton in Pinetown on Friday at 6 p.m.

• The Northside girls’ team will face Roxboro Community in Timberlake on Friday at 6 p.m.

• Southside will face Pamlico County in Bayboro today at 5 p.m.

• The Northside girls’ team will not play Roxboro Community today and is still waiting to reschedule.
• The Northside boys’ team will not play Northampton today and is still waiting to reschedule.

UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, 1:20 P.M.

• The Northside boys’ team will now face Northampton in Pinetown on Thursday at 6 p.m unless school is canceled.

• The Northside girls’ team will face Roxboro Community in Timberlake on Thursday at 6 p.m. unless school is canceled.

• Southside will face Pamlico County in Bayboro on Thursday at 6 p.m. unless Pamlico County cancels school.

UPDATE: WEDNESDAY, 11:53 A.M.

• Per the NCHSAA, games can not be played tonight. Southside and Pamlico County will try to play tomorrow if school is not canceled.

• Northside “tentatively” schedules the boys’ game against Northampton in Pinetown at 7 p.m. and the girls’ game against Roxboro Community in Timberlake at 6 p.m. for Thursday evening, though more winter weather is expected tonight into tomorrow morning.

• Southside has received permission to play its first round game against Pamlico County tonight, but both Hurricanes coach Earl Sadler Jr. and Seahawks coach Sean White are still deciding whether to have the game. Road conditions will likely factor into the decision.

UPDATE: TUESDAY, 4:30 P.M.

• Beaufort County Schools have canceled school for Wednesday, Feb. 25, meaning all state playoff games will have to be rescheduled for a later date.

• The Pamlico County vs. Southside game in Bayboro scheduled for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. has been moved up to 6:30 p.m.

• The Pamlico County vs. Southside game in Bayboro scheduled for tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. has been moved to Wednesday at the same time.

• The Northside boys game against Northampton in Pinetown at 7 p.m. has been moved to Wednesday at the same time, assuming school is not canceled or delayed on Wednesday.

• The Northside girls game against Roxboro Community in Timberlake at 6 p.m. has been moved to Wednesday at the same time, assuming school is not canceled or delayed on Wednesday.
