Ruth’s House in need of supplies
Published 8:21 pm Tuesday, March 3, 2015
Ruth’s House provides a safe haven for victims of domestic violence who seek refuge away from the terror of abuse. Since the beginning of the year the shelter has remained full most of the time and as a result many of the supplies are running low. As a non-profit, Ruth’s House relies on the generosity of the community to maintain adequate provisions for the women and children who often arrive without the basic necessities of everyday life. For this purpose, we publish a wish list every month. This month, the wish list contains: air freshener, apple sauce, assorted crackers, baby food, baby lotion, baby wash, baby diaper rash ointment, breakfast bars, cans of chicken, cans of salmon, cans of fruit, cans of tuna, carpet cleaner, cereal, chips, coffee (caffeinated and decaf), comforters full and twin size, cookies, cooking oil, copy paper, deodorant, diapers (sizes 1-6), dishwasher powder, disinfecting wipes, ear thermometer, fabric softener, floor cleaner (Pinesol, Fabuloso, etc.), flour, grits, hamburger (small packages for freezing), ink cartridges (HP #933 & HP #932), juice, ketchup, laundry detergent, paper cutter, paper plates and plastic cups, paper towels, pancake mix, peanut butter, pens, phone messages pads, ramen noodles, rice, Scotch tape, snacks (individual size), soup, spaghetti noodles, spaghetti Sauce, spices, stamps, stroller, sugar, syrup, tall kitchen trash bags, toilet paper, trashcan (small – for bedroom), Visa or MasterCard gift cards, Wal-Mart gift cards, window cleaner (Windex, etc.).
