To the Editor,
When I was a teenager my parents taught me how to drive and at that time you needed to learn on a manual transmission with no power steering. The only cost to them was the time they devoted to their children, not just me but all five of us children. That memory gives me a perspective on how far we have regressed from parental responsibility that you expect the government to pay for driving lessons.
Much too much spending is defended in the name of “education”. You need to stop and think what we can afford and our priorities. Drivers education is not a priority.
