B. Roscoe Modlin Sr.
May 14, 1935 – April 17, 2015
Burley Roscoe Modlin, Sr. , 79, of 7669 Turnpike Road, the Rose Bay Community, Swan Quarter, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at his home.
Born in Beaufort County, May 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Burley Leamon and Margie Clark Modlin. He was married to Mary Joyce O’Neal Modlin who survives. He was a member of Christ Church at Rose Bay and worked his years as a commercial fisherman.
Funeral services will be held at the gravesite in Fulford Cemetery, Engelhard, at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Phil Emmert will officiate.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Margie Louise Modlin Smith (Lee) of Elizabeth City, Virginia Ann Modlin Lowe (William) of Scranton, Dorothy Marie Modlin Davis (Chuck) of Swan Quarter, Cindy Leona Modlin Dodge (Greg, deceased) of Fairfield, Burley Roscoe Modlin, Jr. (Lynn) of Swan Quarter and Shelly Bland Modlin (Angie) of Washington; a brother, Frankie Modlin of Washington; a sister, Linda M. Mizelle of Washington; grandchildren: Scott Bland Modlin, Charles Clayton Davis, Justin Brooks, Jessica Marie Davis, Joni Elizabeth Modlin, Elsie Modlin Clarke (Waylon), Logan Modlin; great grandchildren: Christopher Modlin, Cassidy Modlin, Emily Davis, William Clayton Davis.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Floyd Modlin, Russell Modlin and Burley L. Modlin, Jr. and a sister, Shelby Mizell.
The family appreciates the very special care provided by Emma Williams RN and Lyla Watson RN and Community Home Care and Hospice.
The family will receive friends at the home and will visit follow the funeral service.
