A NEW BEGINNING: Ms. Louise Hill of Chocowinity, whose home fell victim to the wake of destruction left by the April 25 tornadoes last year, celebrated the blessing of her new home, built through the work of United Methodist Disaster Recovery. Among the guests at the blessing were volunteers with World Renew, a Christian missions organization, representatives of UMDR, Hill’s daughter and granddaughter, area media and local officials. The blessing came one day prior to the one-year-anniversary of the tornado that destroyed Hill’s home. Pictured, Hill receives a quilted blanket from a member of UMDR, as part of her house blessing.
