Mrs. Jeanne Katherine Thelander, age 99, a former resident of Salina, Kan., passed peacefully into glory on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, Kan.
Mrs. Thelander was born in McPherson, Kan., on Jan. 15, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Nels and Amelia Lindberg. On May 30, 1942, she married Milton Thelander who preceded her in death on April 9, 1981. She is also preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She was a member of the First Covenant Church in Salina and served as organist for over 50 years.
Survivors include: three daughters, Marjorie (Jim) Plattner of Salina, Kan., Virginia (David) Mars of Sabetha, Kan., and Barbara (Al) Pinkham of Washington; seven grandchildren, Kristin (Jim) Meyer of Bern, Kan., Ryan Mars of Sabetha, Kan., Ian Pinkham of Washington, Evan Plattner of Colorado Springs, Colo., Brandon (Landis) Pinkham of Washington, Lindsey Mars of Sabetha, Kan., Jenna (Josh) Krehbiel of Salina, Kan.; great-grandchildren, Travis, Darren, Eric and Ellie Meyer of Bern, Kan., Sydnie and Elias Krehbiel of Salina, Kan.; three nephews and six nieces.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at the First Covenant Church, Salina, Kan., officiated by Rev. Wes Gibson and Mr. David Mars. A private family committal service was held earlier.
