On Monday May 25^th the Tyrrell County 911 Center received a call at 2:08pm that a man was trapped in a grain bin on N.C. 94 south about 3 miles outside of Columbia. The Tyrrell County Sheriff’s Office, Tyrrell County Volunteer Fire Department, Washington Tyrrell EMS responded to the scene. Later a Vidant Medical Helicopter and the Elizabeth City Fire Dept. also responded. The man was extricated by the Tyrrell Fire Dept. at 6:11pm. EMS checked the man at the scene.
