From Oak Ridge Industries

Oak Ridge Industries, located in Washington, announced that it has acquired Pitt Electric Incorporated, a commercial, industrial and residential electrical, heating and cooling contractor. The name of the new company will be Pitt Electric ORI, LLC.

“The purchase of Pitt Electric fits into Oak Ridge Industries’ strategic plan to become the premier provider of innovative industrial solutions in the mid-Atlantic region,” said Travis Stephenson, president of Oak Ridge Industries. “We believe that Pitt Electric’s expertise merges very well with our offerings in industrial controls and maintenance and creates synergies not currently available in the marketplace.”

“Our family has been in the contracting business in eastern North Carolina for over 34 years,” said Mike Benson, president of Pitt Electric Incorporated. “We are excited about merging our skills and expertise with those of Oak Ridge Industries going forward. It’s a great opportunity for our employees to continue growing in their careers. It also means that the legacy started in 1981by our father, Jimmy Benson, will continue to grow and prosper for many years to come.”

“The joining of forces with Pitt Electric improves our ability to serve the industrial and commercial Industries. We feel the merger brings great capabilities and talents together, resulting in two stronger companies than we were individually. Our intent is to continue to invest in both companies adding both talent and resources,” said Kevin Boyd, CEO of Oak Ridge Industries.

Pitt Electric will continue operations out of its Greenville headquarters. Jointly, ORI and Pitt Electric provide over 100 jobs in Beaufort and Pitt counties. For more information, contact Tonya Scott at 252-833-4061 or via email at tscott@oakridgemw.com.
