Organization lends helping hand to chained canines

FREEDOM CREW: Volunteers from Freedom for Friends, a grassroots organization that builds fenced enclosures for dogs that are on a chain 24 hours a day, seven days a week, accepted a check from Little Shoppes and South Market Antiques on Saturday during a fundraiser for the group. For information on Freedom for Friends call 252-721-3558. The money was from sales in the Charity Book Store located at the back entrance of Little Shoppes/South Market Antiques. Donations of books and money will be happily accepted Mondays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 pm. The Charity Book Store is located at 127 W.
