From Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office

On Aug. 19, 2015 at approximately 11:00 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a shooting at a residence on Magnolia School Road in Washington. Deputies and crime scene investigators responded to the scene and learned an additional residence had also been struck. Both residences were occupied at the time, including seven minor children, however, no one was injured. Investigators learned the shooting was a targeted attack, related to a physical assault, which occurred prior to the shooting.

The sheriff’s office began an investigation, collected evidence and conducted interviews. As a result of information and evidence gathered during the investigation, Investigator Jonathan Fowler applied for and obtained warrants charging Mr. Raimelle Andreas Peterson, age 17, of Charlotte Street in Washington, with four counts of attempted first degree murder, one count of felony conspiracy to commit first degree murder and one count of felony conspiracy to discharge a weapon into occupied property.

Additionally, Mr. Kashon Eugene Moore, age 20, of Minuteman Lane in Washington, was charged with twelve counts of attempted first degree murder, one count of felony conspiracy to commit first degree murder, two counts of discharging weapon into occupied property and one count of felony conspiracy to discharge a weapon into occupied property. Mr. Peterson was served while in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center on unrelated charges. He was presented before Magistrate J. Mills and was held under no bond for these charges.

Mr. Moore is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
