Mrs. Frances Clark Tetterton, 81, died Sunday, September 20, 2015.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11 am in the Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bruce Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pinewood Memorial Park.
Mrs. Tetterton was a Pitt County native and had attended Chicod School and Pitt Community College of Business, and had been a resident of Beaufort County since 1970. She had worked at National Spinning and Hamilton Beach. For a number of years she was an independent sales representative with Sarah Coventry Jewelry Corp. and for 15 years had been an in-home caregiver.
Mrs. Tetterton was baptized and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ayden but had recently been attending Union Chapel Baptist Church in Chocowinity. She was a member and had held offices in the Pocahontas, and volunteered with Beaufort County Hospital. She was a supporter of the Red Cross by donating 54 pints of blood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Cora Clark; two brothers, Jay and Johnny Marshall “Buddy” Clark; four sisters, Margaret “Bill” Wells, Ruth Miller, Hazel Cox and Shirley Nobles.
She is survived by her: son, Jimmy Rogers Bright; daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth Baker, both of Ayden, NC; sister, Dorothy “Dick” Preston of Wallace, NC; four grandchildren, Jessica McMullen and husband, Christopher, of Tallahassee, FL, James Ryan Bright and wife, Courtney, of LaGrange, NC, Laura K. Bright of Wilmington, NC and Hunter F. Bright of Ayden, NC; five great-grandchildren, Max and Madeline McMullen, Rilley, Mila, and Avinly Bright; and her loving special friend for 74 years, Curley Jay “Jake” Mills.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm on Thursday at Wilkerson Funeral Home.
