Rebecca Whitley Jones
June 5, 1926 – Oct. 5, 2015

Rebecca Whitley Jones, 89, of Zebulon, went home to be with the Lord on Monday with her family by her side.  A native of Nash County, she was daughter to the late William Oscar & Hestella Brantley Whitley. Rebecca had unwavering faith and a generous, sharing, giving spirit. Her family was her life.  She was preceded in death by her husband of over 57 years, Herman Jones & all her siblings.

A funeral service will be at 11 am on Friday at Social Plains Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Stanley Jones (Mary Bare) of Jefferson, Debra Cayton (Robert) of Aurora, Fannie Dillard (Tom) of Concord, Patsy Lambert (Johnny) of Middlesex, grandchildren, Daniel Dillard, Rachel Dillard, Kala Spicer-Mendez (A.B.), Holly Spicer, Grace Lambert, John Lambert, great-grandchildren, Anna, Katie, Avery, sisters-in-law, Hazel, Robenia and Mildred Whitley, numerous nieces and nephews.

Flowers welcomed or memorials may be made to Social Plains Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 7-8:30 pm Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home, 211 W. Third St., Wendell and other times at the home.
