Martha “Anne” Smith Wayne, 69, passed away on Oct 7, 2015 at Premier Living in Lake Waccamaw.

Anne received her elementary teaching degree from Armstrong State University. She taught at Hallsboro Elementary and Waccamaw Academy.

She is survived by her husband, Woody Wayne of the home; son, Robert Wayne and wife, Natalie of Engelhard, NC; daughter, Martha Wayne of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Brayden Wayne and Lear Wayne of Engelhard; brothers, John Smith of Statesboro, GA and Rev. Joseph Smith of Richmond Hill, GA; sister, Mary Johnson and husband, Gary of Savannah, GA; and three nieces.

Her funeral service will be held at Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 am with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery at Lake Waccamaw, NC.

Visitation will be 6:30 – 8:30 pm Friday, October 9, 2015 at Peacock Funeral Home in Whiteville, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lake Waccamaw United Methodist Church, 506 Lakeshore Drive, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450 or the charity of your choice.
