Shirley S. Garrish

Shirley Spencer Garrish, 79, of 406 Belhaven Square, Belhaven, died on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Vidant Inhouse Hospice, Greenville.
Born in Hyde County, January 25, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Daniel David and Rita Carawan Spencer. She was married to Myron Garrish who preceded her in death in 1974. She was a member of First Christian Church, Belhaven, enjoyed several years as a part of the Belhaven Senior Line Dancers and enjoyed volunteering at Autumnfield of Belhaven.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in First Christian Church of Belhaven. Burke Holland, former interim pastor, will officiate. A private inurnment will follow.
Surviving are two sons, Rayford Garrish and wife, Shelia of Scranton and Ron Garrish and wife, Heather of Belhaven; two daughters, Sylvia Lucas of Raleigh and Teresa Respess and husband, Jon of Plymouth; eleven grandchildren, Sandy Berry, Rayford Garrish Jr., Chrystal Harris, Dale Harris, Phillip Lucas, Kara Lucas, Jonathan Crisp, Nicholas Crisp, Brandi Garrish, Madison Crisp and Austin Garrish; three great-grandchildren, Chance Garrish, Gavin Harris and Kynlie Harris.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Maurice Garrish, a daughter, Barbara Harris and her brothers, Rupert Spencer, Sidney Spencer and Henry Spencer.
Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church, Belhaven NC 27810.
The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the memorial service at the church and at other times at the home of Ron and Heather Garrish, 1164 Beechridge Road, Belhaven.
