Seniors exercise class with instructor Linda Judson every Tuesday and Thursday at the Belhaven Seniors’ Center, 274 E. Main St., Belhaven, at 10:30 a.m. The class is free, but small donations per class visit are appreciated. Call 252-943-2992 for more information.

“Growing A Fit Community” program, every Tuesday and Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. 150 Swamp Road, Pantego. Healthy Living includes discussion of social issues, including environmental, Spanish and English teaching, juicing, line dancing and exercise classes. All interested seniors, call 252-943-3822.

 

FRIDAY, DEC. 4

Swan Days Festival at Lake Mattamuskeet, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wildlife, educational and environmental programs for school children.

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 5

Swan Days Festival at Lake Mattamuskeet, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A variety of activities for all ages. Vendors will feature arts, crafts, photography, wildlife videos, decoys, great food and much more. There is no admission charge for any of the educational and environmental activities.

Belhaven Christmas Celebration beginning at 12 p.m. Celebration includes: Santa Village, corner of Main and Pamlico streets, 12-3:30 p.m.; build a gingerbread house, Spoon River Artworks and Market, 1-3 p.m.; annual Christmas parade, begins at Railroad Street, 4 p.m.; Christmas decoration contest, judging on Friday night and winners recognized on Saturday; Candlelight Tour of Homes, 5:30-7:30 p.m., proceeds will benefit Belhaven Memorial Museum, list of homes available at Santa’s Village.

Grand opening of the Toy Trains of Belhaven, 1-4 p.m. and then after the Belhaven Christmas Parade until 7 p.m. Old Town Hall, 215 E. Main St., Belhaven.

Swan Days Festival at Lake Mattamuskeet, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Engelhard Volunteer Fire Department will be serving a fundraiser lunch.

Hyde County Board of Commissioners meeting, 6 p.m. Government Center’s multi-use room, 30 Oyster Creek Road, Swan Quarter.

Last day of the annual open enrollment period for Medicare Part D (prescription drug plans). Spots are limited. Please have Medicare ID card and prescriptions ready for the appointment. Low-cost spay and neuter clinic, Spencer’s True Value and Furniture Store, 34910 U.S. Highway 264, Engelhard. Male cats $39 and female cats $59.
