Mrs. Etta Brinson Tetterton, age 84, a resident of 1817 West 5th Street, Washington, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Oakdale Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Jeff Hart. Pallbearers will be Bobby Jackson, Jackie McRoy, Rodney Murdock, Bryan Brinson, Griffin Taylor and Bobby Murdock.
Ms. Etta was born in Beaufort County on October 30, 1931, daughter of the late Samuel Lyle Carrow and the late Hattie Susan Clark Carrow. She married Mack Donald Brinson Sr. who preceded her in death on October 3, 1980. On July 4, 1981 she married William Thaddeus Tetterton Jr. who preceded her in death on July 26, 1999. At an early age Ms. Etta worked for many years with Maola Ice Cream Plant and later in life she worked as a supervisor with Hamilton Beach of Washington. She was a past member of the Washington Moose Lodge 1800.
Survivors include a daughter: Lisa B. Peacock and husband Jim of Washington; a brother: Willie Gray “Billy” Moore of FL; two sisters: Hazel Mills of Vanceboro and Dorothy Lee Wheeler of TN; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Etta was predeceased by a son: Mack Donald Brinson Jr.; two brothers: Samuel Lyle Carrow Jr. and William Albert Moore and two sisters: Edna Pipkin and Thelma Juanita Bright.
