Laura Cutler Webster

Oct. 28, 1919 – Dec. 23, 2015

Laura Cutler Webster, age 96, a former resident of Pinetown, NC and a more recent resident of Ridgewood Manor passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at Vidant Beaufort Hospital. Mrs. Webster was born in Beaufort County on October 28, 1919, to the late Oliver and Sidney Cutler. She was a retired caregiver.

She was married to Oscar Webster, who predeceased her in death in 1983. She was also preceded in death by nine siblings.

She is survived by her children: Oscar J. “Doc” Webster of Pinetown, NC, Jimmy Webster of Ayden, NC and Ruth Dorkin of Pinetown, NC; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Mrs. Webster was a member of Trinity Free Will Baptist Church in Pantego, Trinity Ladies Auxiliary, Free Union Ladies Auxiliary, Albemarle Conference Ladies Auxiliary and she was a Sunday school teacher at Trinity Free Will Baptist Church.

In her leisure time, Mrs. Webster loved to cook for her family (especially Christmas candy) and she was an avid quilter.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 28, 2015, in the chapel at Hillside Funeral Service. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 27, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations and other times at the home.
