Better eating class at Belhaven Seniors’ Center, 10 a.m. Instructor Peggy Bonner. 274 E. Main St., Belhaven.

Seniors exercise class with instructor Linda Judson every Tuesday and Thursday at the Belhaven Seniors’ Center, 274 E. Main St., Belhaven, at 10:30 a.m. The class is free, but small donations per class visit are appreciated. Call 252-943-2992 for more information.

“Growing A Fit Community” program, every Tuesday and Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. 150 Swamp Road, Pantego. Healthy Living includes discussion of social issues, including environmental, Spanish and English teaching, juicing, line dancing and exercise classes. All interested seniors, call 252-943-3822.

 

SATURDAY, JAN. 9

Fifth Annual Oyster Roast at Ponzer Volunteer Fire & Rescue, 40186 U.S. Highway 264, Belhaven. 5-8 p.m. $30, all you can eat. Other items on the menu for non-oyster-eating customers. For more information, call 252-943-2399.

Riverside Gospel Sing every Saturday night at 7 p.m. Located at Riverside Camp Grounds, U.S. Highway 45, Ponzer. Snack bar with hotdogs, popcorn, candy and drinks available. Free admission. The program will feature Touch of Grace of Harkers Island and Brenda Tyson of Greenville.

The Sidney Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual fire district meeting, 7 p.m., Sidney Fire Station. Open to all district fire department members, residents and property owners. Refreshments provided.
