“Growing A Fit Community” program, every Tuesday and Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. 150 Swamp Road, Pantego. Healthy Living includes discussion of social issues, including environmental, Spanish and English teaching, juicing, line dancing and exercise classes. All interested seniors, call 252-943-3822.

 

SATURDAY, JAN. 30

The Swan Quarter VFD will hold a fried oyster fundraising lunch and dinner from 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. at the station. Fried oysters, buttered potatoes, coleslaw, hush puppies, dessert and tea. Eat in or take out! Adults, $10; children under 12, $5 per plate.

Riverside Gospel Sing every Saturday night at 7 p.m. Located at Riverside Camp Grounds, U.S. Highway 45, Ponzer. Snack bar with hotdogs, popcorn, candy and drinks available. Free admission. The program will feature Steadfast Quartet of Askewville.

The Hyde County Board of Commissioners will hold their regular monthly meeting at 2 p.m. in the Government Center multi-use room (30 Oyster Creek Road, Swan Quarter) and in the Ocracoke School commons room (120 Schoolhouse Road, Ocracoke) via teleconferencing equipment.
