Mr. Stephen Andrew Buck, age 69, a resident of Cotton Patch Road, Chocowinity, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2016, at Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern.
The family will receive friends from noon to 12:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2016, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, followed by a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. at Edwards Cemetery, Possum Track Road, Chocowinity. The service will be conducted by Pastor Jesse Crisp.
Mr. Buck was born in Beaufort County on Aug. 9, 1946. He was the son of the late Andrew Madison Buck and Olive Boyd Buck. Mr. Buck served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed with the Sales Department at Hackney Industries. Mr. Buck loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting with his grandson, Brian, and his close childhood friend, Adolph Sadler. He was a past member of the Mill Dam Hunting Club and Old Cove Hunting Club.
On April 30, 1971, Mr. Buck married the former Diana Ireland, who survives.
Surviving with his wife are his daughter, Stephanie Buck Edwards and husband, Chris, of Chocowinity; his grandson, Brian, of Chocowinity and his sister, Janie Buck Petralia and husband Don, of Chocowinity.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Buck was preceded in death by a brother, Hallet Buck.
