MARGARET CAHOON CELEBRATED HER 90TH BIRTHDAY recently with a gathering of 43 people at Columbia Crossing Restaurant in Columbia. Present were all of her children: James Cahoon and wife Kathy, Jackie Smith and husband Alvin, Ginger Hassell and husband Chris, and Anita Simpson and husband Travis, plus eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, other family members and friends. Margaret was born Jan. 11, 1926, to Howard Johnson and Maud Ella Brickhouse, the only daughter in a house with six brothers.
She loves her family and friends and enjoys getting together to celebrate any occasion. Margaret is a lifetime member of Sound Side Free Will Baptist Church and has lived in Tyrrell County the majority of her life.
