Mr. George Asa Braddy, age 72, a resident of 67 Parson Road, Washington, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Everetts Church of Christ, officiated by Dennis R. Davis.

The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 in the Fellowship Hall of Everetts Church of Christ.

Mr. Braddy was born in Beaufort County on August 30, 1943, son of the late George Milton Braddy and the late Hattie Elizabeth Waters Braddy. He was a 1961 graduate of Bath High School. On March 15, 1964 he married the love of his life and the former Selma Rae Baynor. He worked as a salesman with Buckman’s Auto Supply of Washington and made many friends through his work all over eastern North Carolina. Mr. Braddy’s priorities were his family, his church and his friends. His hobbies were family gatherings, sports, gardening and turkey hunting.

He was a member of Everetts Church of Christ, where he was very active in many aspects of the church including serving on the Elder Board. Mr. Braddy lived his life as a positive role model, which will cause many to miss him.

Surviving along with his wife Selma of the home are three sons: George Galen Braddy of Grimesland, Stephen Ray Braddy of Chocowinity and Christopher Alan Braddy and his wife Melissa of Kill Devil Hills; a daughter: Susan LaRee Jordan and her husband Joseph Keith Jordan III of Belhaven; and nine grandchildren: Zachary Tyler Jordan, Nicholas Keith Jordan, Kristine Blake Braddy, Porter Asa Braddy, Hattie Kathleen Tucker Braddy, George Cameron Gage Braddy, Lucas Lene Braddy, Casey Fahey and Phillip Fahey.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2418 Blue Ridge Road, Suite 206, Raleigh, NC 27607 or to Everetts Church of Christ Building Fund, 22 S. White Post Road, Pinetown, NC 27865.
