NORTHEAST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
ALL-DISTRICT BAND: On Feb. 5 and 6, three Northeast students participated on the Eastern All-District Band Clinic held on the campus of East Carolina University. Pictured from left to right are Gracie Morris (seventh grade), Ronnie Winfield (eighth grade) and Rachael Daleo (eighth grade). Hundreds of students across the east auditioned for a spot in these prestigious bands and were given several pieces of music to learn on their own. On Friday, all of the students met for the first time and began rehearsing the music under the direction of guest conductors. On Saturday afternoon, they presented five compositions in a concert at Wright Auditorium. All students described the experience as “amazing” and “so much fun.” These students, as well as others from Northeast and Bath Elementary, are preparing for competition in Jacksonville in March and Yorktown, Virginia, in May.
