READ ACROSS AMERICA: It is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2 — Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Pictured: Ed Harris has volunteered in Tracy Arnold’s third-grade classroom at John Cotten Tayloe for many years. The students enjoyed him reading to them. He is a retired superintendent from Pennsylvania.
Brownie Futrell read in Lindsay Gurganus’ and Jenni Uzzell’s second-grade classrooms at JCT. He is a lifetime resident of Washington and is the former editor and publisher of the Washington Daily News.
Students from P.S. Jones Middle School Builder’s Club read to all third-grade students in their classrooms. Graham Parker is shown reading to students in Tracy Solano’s classroom.
