JOHN SMALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CAT IN THE HAT: On March 2, Amy Craft’s class celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday. The students started the festivities by dressing up as the Cat in the Hat, Thing One and Thing Two. They enjoyed “green eggs” for snack — made with vanilla pudding, green food coloring and a vanilla wafer as the yoke. The students competed in friendly games involving reading skills, read some of Dr. Seuss’ books, such as “Green Eggs and Ham” and “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” making crafts to go along with these books. To end the celebration, the class enjoyed the movie “The Lorax.” The classroom door will display the Cat in the Hat during the month of March to show the importance of reading and the joy of books.
