Burnette Paramore McRoy, 80, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, March 7, 2016. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 11, 11:00am, at Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Ronnie Gurganus and Rev. Frederick Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
Mrs. McRoy was born in Beaufort County on September 15, 1935, daughter of the late Ezekial “Zeke” and Emily Cannon Paramore. On December 16, 1956 she married Warren McRoy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Artis Paramore, sisters, Myrtle Ruth Adams, Reatha Elks, Elizabeth Foreman, Evelyn Marie Paramore and Marjorie Clark.
Survivors are her husband Warren McRoy, son Jackie McRoy and wife Ann, of Washington, daughter Crystal Hurt and husband Steve, of Roseburg, Or., sister Louise Mayhue, of Bedford, Va., grandchildren, Miranda Williams, Misty Davenport, Kevin McRoy, Michael Blanchard and Ryan Blanchard. She had six great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Thursday, March 10, from 6:30pm until 8:30pm, at Hodges Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Carrow Road, Chocowinity, and other times at the residence, 104 Claybourne Ct., Greenville, NC.
